Privacy Policy — Sovereign

Application: Sovereign (com.uyllii.sovereign)

Sovereign is a logic puzzle game. It has no accounts and no login. It does have one small server of mine, used only by its competitive modes, and this policy describes exactly what crosses to it — written against what the shipped build actually does, not against what a game of this kind might conceivably do.

What Sovereign does not collect

There is no sign-up and no profile. The app does not ask for, receive, or transmit:

Sovereign does record how the game is played — which mode you opened, how a run ended, whether you watched an ad — and sends that to Google Analytics. It is not linked to your player id and it contains nothing you have written. It is described under Analytics below, and this policy changed on 18 August 2026 to add it.

Beyond internet access, the app uses the advertising identifier (for ads, below) and can ask for notification permission — used only for a local streak reminder scheduled on your own device. Nothing about notifications touches a server, and you can decline.

Your progress

Your campaign progress, coins and settings are saved on your device and leave it only as described in the next section. Uninstalling the app deletes them. Separately, Android's own backup service may copy the app's data to your Google Drive; that copy is governed by your device settings, not by me, and I have no access to it (Android Settings → Google → Backup).

Competitive play — what leaves your device

Sovereign's daily and versus ("Joust") modes are built on shared solves. When you complete one of those boards, the app uploads the solve to my server:

Uploaded solves are opponent material. When another player races the same board, my server hands their device a handful of uploaded solves near their skill level — including the screen name, rating and move timings of each. During the race they see your name and how fast your solve progressed; the board itself is theirs to solve. This is the point of the feature, and you should treat your screen name as public.

Screen names. A name is generated for you at first launch; you can change it in Settings. Names are limited to plain letters and digits. Any player can report a name; a reported name is replaced server-side with a generated one. Sending a report transmits your player id and the reported player's id, and nothing else.

Ratings. Your Joust rating is calculated and stored on the server from race results.

This data is stored with Cloudflare, which hosts the server and database as my service provider. If the server is unreachable, the game remains fully playable and nothing is queued to be sent later about daily or versus results that ended locally.

Advertising

Sovereign shows ads through Google AdMob. Rewarded ads are always player-initiated; interstitial ads appear between levels unless ads have been removed by purchase.

For this, Google receives:

I do not receive any of this. I see only aggregate, anonymous earnings and impression counts. Google's handling of this data is governed by the Google Privacy Policy and Google's advertising terms. Google may share bid requests with third-party advertising partners who bid to fill an impression.

You can limit this. On Android: Settings → Privacy → Ads, where you can reset your advertising ID or delete it entirely. Deleting it does not stop ads; it stops them being personalised. Purchasing Remove Ads stops them entirely.

If you are in the EEA, the UK or Switzerland, you will be shown a consent choice before personalised ads are served, and you may change or withdraw it at any time.

Analytics

Sovereign uses Google Analytics for Firebase to measure how the game is played and how it earns. This was added on 18 August 2026; earlier versions sent nothing.

What is recorded is a list of small events — a board started, a board solved, a run ended and how, a hint used, a shop screen opened, an ad watched, a language chosen — each with a few details about the board or the mode, such as its size or difficulty. Google also attaches your app version, device model, Android version, an approximate country derived from your IP address, and an app instance identifier it generates for this install.

Two things are deliberately absent:

This data is linked to advertising. My AdMob account is linked to the analytics property, which is what lets me see revenue per player rather than a single total — the number that decides whether the game can afford to advertise itself. It also means Google receives these events into the same systems it operates for advertising, on its own account and not merely on mine. I am telling you that plainly because a link like this is easy to leave unsaid.

Your ad consent choice governs it too. If you are shown a consent choice and decline it, analytics collection is switched off on your device along with personalised ads, and Google is told that consent is denied. There is no separate analytics switch, because that one answer covers both.

I receive only aggregate reports — counts, rates, averages by country and by week. I cannot look up an individual player, because nothing in it identifies one to me.

Purchases

Sovereign offers optional one-time purchases (Remove Ads, Unlimited Lives, Unlimited Joust) and coin packs.

Payment is handled entirely by Google Play. I never see your card details, billing address or any payment instrument.

To know whether you own a purchase — including after reinstalling or changing device — the app uses RevenueCat, which receives:

RevenueCat's handling of that data is governed by the RevenueCat Privacy Policy.

Children

Sovereign is not directed at children under 13, and I do not knowingly collect any data from them. The app is not enrolled in Google Play's Designed for Families programme.

Retention and deletion

I hold no name, email address or contact detail for you. What exists, and how it is deleted:

Changes

If this policy changes materially, the "last updated" date above changes with it and the revised policy is published at the same address before the change takes effect.
